Controlled demolition for the construction of a modern logistics hub

SP 205

The  conversion of a recently built industrial warehouse in the province of Pavia  into a modern logistics hub required a high-precision controlled demolition  project to adapt the existing structure to its new operational requirements.

The works included the creation of new loading bays through openings in precast concrete wall panels using diamond wall saws, as well as core drilling and wall and floor openings to accommodate the installation of new  building services.

The project involved approximately 200 m³ of controlled demolition, carried  out using diamond cutting technologies that ensured maximum precision while  minimizing vibrations and avoiding unnecessary impact on the existing  structure. The main challenge was not only the scale of the works, but also  the need to complete all activities within a particularly demanding schedule.  Every operation was successfully completed over a three-month period,  maintaining the highest quality standards and ensuring the precise execution  of every opening and penetration.

The result was a project delivered on time  with millimetre-level accuracy, providing the ideal conditions for the  subsequent development of the new logistics hub.
