WATT 22
For the conversion of a building from industrial to residential use, remediation of friable asbestos-containing materials (ACM) covering the steel ties and asbestos-containing membranes was carried out, as well as the removal of category 2 man-made vitreous fibers (MMVF) present in the walls.
Subsequently, a preliminary strip-out before demolition was performed, removing all non-structural materials and internal systems. This step facilitated the complete demolition of the buildings, which was executed in a controlled manner and in compliance with safety regulations. Finally, excavation under remediation conditions was conducted to prepare the site for new residential construction, ensuring the removal of any remaining contaminants in the soil.
