BUSTO ICE ARENA
As part of the urban redevelopment project in Busto Arsizio (VA), our team carried out the controlled demolition of the Ice Arena, marking the first step toward the construction of the future Gymnastics Arena.
The work began with the removal of the sheet metal roofing, followed by the dismantling of the iconic laminated timber arch beams, which were recovered for potential reuse in the surrounding park, embracing a sustainability and circular economy approach. To ensure safety and efficiency, we used a long-arm excavator equipped with shears and a concrete crusher, ideal tools for controlled demolition.
The project continued with the partial removal and total demolition of some pillars using wall saw cutting. A mini robot was employed for the removal of existing floor slabs, while reinforced concrete parapets and stands were demolished with precision.
Finally, we carried out foundation work and completed the excavation for the new structure.
All resulting materials were collected, transported, and disposed of in authorized landfills, in compliance with current environmental regulations.
